Dawn just called from The Forum. She was alarmed @ how exhausted Papa was. He could barely open his eyes for her and could not really sit up or respond to her questions. She said he was just plain exhausted. She asked the Forum staff if that was how he seemed typically and they indicated yes. Based on this, Dawn is recommending that Papa's visits to Mama be limited to 3 x week and 1 hour per visit. If Papa is having a really good day and indicates that he wants to see Mama (on a non-scheduled day) Forum will take him to see her. Dawn hopes that this reduced schedule will help boost Papa's energy level. I agreed to this. Hope everyone is OK w/ this, but if it's best for Papa...
They did mention to Mama that Papa would not be coming and indicated that Mama was having a day where she did not seem to know who Papa was.
On the brighter side, Dawn mentioned that Papa's Edema is much better. He only has a little bit under his eye and his hand is not as swollen. So the Lasix is doing a good job.

I wasn't aware that papa was even
visiting mama on a regular basis. On the days I have been there, there was no way that he had the energy to go to visit her. I'm in
complete agreement that the visits be limited to 3x/week and really only if he is up to it.
It hurts my heart to read that mama
did not seem to know who papa was, but at least for today she isn't waiting and wondering why he isn't coming.

I don't know if anyone will see this because I know the latest blog was a few days ago. Anyway, I just caught up on all the blogs and now have the site so I can look everyday and start to leave my own messages...like a true Cabrera I am never short of words. I don't see anything about the new baby? Is he here yet?!?! Also, I don't know if Jenny is reading this but if so, how is Drake?
I saw that my mom already shared my story about meeting with grandpa. It really was special for me because since I started taking Spanish in Middle School I have been determined to have a conversation with grandpa. Although he could not respond, it was amazing to be able to share that with him before it was too late. I have not gone to see grandma yet, I'm weary to go alone in case she doesn't remember me; I don't want to upset her and then just leave. I'm trying to find a buddy to go sometime soon though.
I'm so sad that I missed breakfast, I would love to see Fran and everyone. So next time Fran is here I would love to get together with everyone since it sounds like it was such a success the first time. I'm so excited that Meg is going to Prom...Luke too! I'm looking forward to pics from all of these events. A special shout out to Jas too because the pictures are wonderful! Is there a "blog" site for pictures? I'm not very computer savvy but this has been such a successful way to keep everyone in touch it would just be that much better with pics.
Well, I don't have much to say other than hello and to send my love to everyone! It's so nice to have such constant updates on our massive family, I can feel the love :) Hope all is well and wishing everyone a wonderful week.
